THE VISITATION DAUGHTERS OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

was founded by a group of six Sisters. The Gift of the Holy Spirit to found the Association in view of becoming a future religious institute of consecrated women was received by the sisters under the guidance and discernment of His Grace Archbishop Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo, of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. The work of God was granted an official recognition by His Grace in this Archdiocese, with the Decree of 25th August 2020, endowing it with his blessings and best wishes as it continues to discern the will of God and to fulfil its mission.

OUR CHARISM

A Charism is God’s grace, a gift that the Holy Spirit offers to the world through a person or a group of people. It’s from this gift that a religious community is born. This gift determines the way of life and mission. The Visitation Daughters’ Charism is: to live and share the mystery of the love of Christ among ourselves and in service in charity to families.

OUR SPIRITUALITY

OUR SPIRITUALITY Our spirituality is to live in loving openness to the will of God through the spirit of visitation, inspired by the Immaculate Mary’s trip to her cousin Elizabeth, a faith Journey which shapes our personal and communitarian life, and our mission of being in solidarity with the human family for the salvation of souls, distinguished by hope, charity, simplicity and joyful presence. Our spirituality is the spirituality of visitation, with the Immaculate Mary as our Model.

OUR VISION

The vision of the Visitation Daughters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is to be a community of consecrated religious women totally committed to render services in communion with the Church to the Christian faithful and to the world at large in restoring spiritual health and building families and communities where God is loved and sought.

OUR MISSION

Our Association faithful to the inspiration of its origin, makes its own the mission of animating families in the restoration of their spiritual health and addressing the problems arising from spiritual emptiness, through diverse ministries with our physical presence and prayerful acts of solidarity, in order to build families and communities of love and hope, where values are nurtured and God is sought above all things. The life and mission of the Association is entirely directed by the love and sacrifice of the Immaculate Mary, who while carrying Christ in her, visited Elizabeth her cousin and brought a lot of Joy and peace to her entire family in time of need.
